The National Beauty Tool Sharpeners Guild Annual Conference 2009 was held in St. Louis, Missouri on August 30, 31st and September 1, 2009. We had a GREAT time and appreciate everyone's help and support.

The 2009 NBTSG Certification/Seminar was a success!  There were 16 individuals that certified in Shears/Thinners and 9 that certified in Clipper Blades.  The judges were Craig Cazier, Dennis Brooks and Larry Brooks.  Several leaders in our industry stopped by to observing the judging from a distant, Jim O’Donnell, Bonnie Megowan, and Jason Pintel were all at some point observing the judging process. A Shear Cut Tester was developed by Larry Brooks for judging purposes.  This device takes out all human error by allowing the device to be the judge.  The shear is placed on the device with a piece of tissue placed on the cutting blade and when the handle of the device is pushed the judges can see how the cutting edge will cut using the zero side pressure on every test, allowing for all human error to be taken out of the equation.

There were a total of 17 Vendors that were in attendance offering an exceptional variety of products.  The vendor room was open for two days to allow for plenty of shopping time.
